That's what I wanted to know! Where the hell has the beef been? I mean, I'm not really a drama kinda guy most of the time but it's about time something exciting happened right? Well finallyyyyy my wish came true this week.
HOH:
As soon as Pilar won I knew I was safe and Adam was going up on the block, it's only natural. It looks like my campaigning (or what I made look like campaigning) paid off and pushed Pilar and I a little closer together.
I've been studying for an exam a lot the past couple days so I didn't get a chance to discuss noms with her but I assumed it'd be Charlotte or something, just to put someone random up next to Adam.
Nominations:
In the end Pilar surprised me, big time. I'm not particularly upset about it, Michael is a major social player at the least. So the fact that Pilar went straight for the jugular is pretty bad ass to be honest. We've been saying for a week or two how the game is about to open up, well here you go. The last HOH and a major player are on the block, let's get things going.
Michael, and even Adam I heard (idk why), was pissed that he ended up on the block. And, granted I only have Pilar as my sole source, apparently went off on Pilar for doing it like in a personal way. I really can't speak to that but to be honest I wouldn't be surprised, he's never struck me as an genuine guy and I could see a stint on the block pulling out a more entitled player.
Who should stay?
My general opinion on the noms though is that Michael should stay. Not because I want him to or I necessarily like him more, it's just more beneficial to my game. I'll elaborate later, but the general feeling is that Adam may feel he burned our bridge and is therefore not likely to work with me. As opposed to Michael, who definitely has shown an interest in doing so.
Also, targets. Who's gonna get targeted in the jury phase first? Michael, the guy who a lot of people seem to get along with. Or Adam, who's been solid but just doesn't seem to have the same perception of a jury threat at Michael does.
Lastly, this public feud with Pilar could very easily work to my advantage. With ties to both parties, I'll probably have a good insight behind the scenes if this is part of the way battle lines are gonna be drawn heading into the middle portion of the game. I know I can get Michael after Pilar and vice versa, anything that keeps the target off me.
Rumor Mill and the super duper secret alliance:
The good part about being friends with the HOH is that she tells you things. Apparently Pilar specifically targeted an alliance of Adam, Aisha, Jackie, Michael, Vanessa, and Zach. I'd never heard of this alliance prior to be honest but the fact that they'd clearly be losing one made it really interesting to me. If that was the case then the group is either gonna divide themselves trying to save their ideal ally, or unite and sacrifice their least valuable member.
The way it looks from this group, Adam drew the short straw and is probably working an uphill battle unless he or one of is his allies (or even Michael taking himself off) win veto.
The interesting part comes here though, guess who comes to me looking to talk game? My girl Jackie. Alrighty...oh...who do I like around here? Funny you should ask, I actually like: Aisha, Jackie, Michael, Vanessa, and Zach. you do too? Wow what a coincidence.
I think I just replaced Adam
My alliance:
Assuming Jackie really did try and set me up, I sorta just played along with the fact that they all came across like they were forming a new alliance. Honestly, I kinda trust my intel from Pilar in that I'm probably now on the bottom of this 6 person alliance.
However, I'm kinda ok with this. Let's say this is legit and we wanna go F6, awesome. Because guess what? Is JMac really gonna get targeted first over people like Michael, Jackie and Zach? They're all people I perceive to be well liked, making them perfect boots over me.
And let's just say we're not cruising to final 6...Maybe someone on the outs goes on an HOH run and starts to target members. Who's going first? Not fuckin Johnny Mac! Maybe someone wants to make a big move at 7 or 8 at a power player? Let's do it!
Perception and using it as a shield
Let's face it, I'm not perceived as a power player. But I think I'm actually doing a good job at staying personable and involved enough to not be written off.
If I can maintain this level of play, I can see myself at least being dangerous as long as the endgame is focused on taking out threats to win as opposed to the stronger allies. Maybe I won't have the tightest ties, but I'll be riding the middle of the road hard enough to get deep I think. From there? Who knows....
Round plans:
I've definitely found some good strong points about being involved in this alliance but I'm not all in YET. I definitely have some trust issues but I'm hoping my target size can help counter that and keep me in the alliance's good graces.
I'm gonna spend some time over the next couple days thinking over some negatives though, i don't wanna get too caught up in the alliance kool aid that I go blind on something I'm missing.
As of now, I'm looking to keep Michael and so is the majority I think. But I'm not locked in yet since anything can happen, especially with the tension that the noms and the HOH have right now.
